What is Today's Youth?

The Today's Youth program, aka "TY", is a program designed for out-of-school youth aged 17-21. "Out-of-school" refers to a youth who is not currently attending high school or has already graduated from high school. TY provides services that assist youth in obtaining training or education and obtaining employment. The program offices are on the campus of Morehead State University, with funding provided through the Workforce Investment Act.

Is School on Your Mind?

TY may help with tuition assistance if other sources are not available to meet your full financial need.  Assistance is provided for 2-year Associate Degree or training programs, or the last 2 years of a 4 year degree program.  Training may be approved at accredited state universities, community colleges, technical colleges, or specialized training schools.

Over the years, many students have successfully graduated from Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky University, Rowan Technical College, and specialized schools such as Bailey's Barber College through the TY program.

Searching for the Top Job?

TY can help you find it! Our students receive assistance in  job searches, writing cover letters, resumes, interviewing techniques, and last but not least . . . moral support.

Looking for Some Work Experience?

TY participants have the opportunity to do a 175-240 hour paid Work Experience related to their field of study. This is a great opportunity to make professional contacts and gain valuable experience for the perfect resume.  We make arrangements with the work site . . . the rest is up to you!
