The meeting was called to order by Chair Thacker at 1:03 p.m. Minutes of the December 6 meeting were reviewed.

COMMITTEE REPORT
Standing Committee on Appointments – Lora Pace has been nominated to serve on the Scholarship Committee, concern was voiced on possible conflict of interest. Chair Thacker has sent back to committee.
Credential and Elections Committee – No Report.
Fiscal Affairs Committee – No Report.
Personnel Policies and Benefits Committee – The Committee recommends Tuition Waiver for Retirees and Dependents.
Called For Vote: Passed. Will be forwarded to Vice President Dailey.
The Committee will also be sending out a survey to all employees of the University to access support of a Vision Care Plan and a Tuition Waiver for retirees and their dependents. The results will be reported at the next Staff Congress meeting in February.
OLD BUSINESS – No Old Business.
NEW BUSINESS – Chair Thacker brought to the attention of Staff Congress deductions being taken from University employee’s paychecks for Delta Dental Insurance. The deduction is for $2 and employees did not understand why their coverage did not change but are being charged. Members of Staff Congress also were commenting on this. Staff Congress has recommended Chair Thacker formally addresses this issue with VP Dailey and Human Resources.
