The meeting was called to order by Chair Weathers at 11:08 a.m. in the Eagle meeting room of ADUC.
PPB Chair Pace presented the committee's recommendations regarding PG-44 as follows:
Page 1 of 6 - "The Job Reclassification Review Committee will be appointed by Staff Congress to review all reclassification requests that are NOT approved by the Office of Human Resources." (The committee will only look at requests that have been denied.)
Page 2 of 6 - "The President will have the final decision". (The last sentence to be deleted because of redundancy.)
Page 4 of 6 - under B. 'Upon promotion or reclassification of position the employees new rate of pay will be the entry level of the new grade or 7.5 percent more of the current salary whichever is greater".
The above recommendations were presented in the form a motion from the PPB Committee. Chair Weathers called for discussion of the recommendation.
Representative Eldridge suggested that the committee have the OPTION to review the positions that are upgraded by OHR. OHR Director Roger Barker responded that the option was available by default.
Representative Thacker suguested the committee might want to review those requests that did not get approved at the level of request. For example a reclassification was requested to a grade 6 and was only approved to a grade 5.
After much discussion, Page 1 of 6 of the motion was amended to read as follows:
MOTION: The Job Reclassification Review Committee will be appointed by Staff Congress to review all reclassification requests that are NOT approved or not approved to the level of the initial request by the Office of Human Resources."

End of official business part of the special called meeting to discuss PG-44.
The Staff Congress had been informed that Roger Barker wanted to share through the PPB committee some information that has come about regarding the change in our health insurance Third Party Administrator. Roger had met with the PPB committee. Chair Weathers informed the SC the University Standing Benefits Committee has forwarded a recommendation to the President and the cabinet endorsing a change from Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield to CHA Commonwealth Administrators who will take over the administration of the university's health insurance plan.
