Pre-College Curriculum Requirements

Students must complete all Pre-College Curriculum requirements before completing 24 college credit hours. Pre-College Curriculum requirements are based on a student's high school transcript - NOT on ACT scores.
ENGLISH
Students with a PCC requirement in English must take course as indicated.

MATH
Students with a PCC requirement in Math must take courses as indicated.

With below a 19, 091 is required for 093 for student needing MATH 141 or 152
19 460 - 470 MATH 093, 131, 135
With a 19, 093 is required for 141, 152
20 480-490 MATH 141,152
21 and above 500+ EXEMPT
 
SCIENCE
There are no ACT or SAT scores for placement in this requirement. Students with a PCC requirement in Science must take one of the following courses:
SCI 104    
BIOL 105    
GEO/ESS 101    
ACT Science subscore of 23 and above exempts student from PCC science requirement.
 
SOCIAL SCIENCE
There are no ACT or SAT scores for placement in this requirement. Students with a PCC requirement in Social Science must take one of the following courses:
HIS 102    
SOC 101    
GOVT 141    
ACT Reading subscore of 22 and above exempts student from PCC Social Science requirement.
 
HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION
There are no ACT or SAT scores for placement or exemption of this requirement. Students with a PCC requirement in Health & Physical Education must take one of the following courses:
HLTH 151    
PHED 205    
NUTR 101    
 
VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS
There are no ACT or SAT scores for placement or exemption of this requirement.  Students with a PCC requirement in Visual & Performing Arts must take one of the following courses:
ART 160
THEA 110
MUSH 261
FILM 170
 
FOREIGN LANGUAGE
High School Take
None in H.S. Two semester sequences in a language (Ex. Spanish 101 and 102)
1 Year in H.S. Placement Test. Based on scores, 1 or two semesters, or score may be waived and take 2 semesters
2 Years in H.S. Exempt  
 
Exempt from PCC Requirements
The following students are exempt from PCC requirements:
1. Students who are 21 or older at the time of application,
2. Students who are out-of-state or international students,
3. Students who meet the ACT or SAT exemption score for PCC requirement,
4. Students who intend to earn an associate degree program, or
5. Active duty military personnel, their spouses and dependents.
NOTE: A student with a PCC requirement is locked into an associate degree program when admitted. The student must complete all PCC requirements before declaring a bachelor's degree program unless the student has an academic index of 450 or above.
