A pool of funds administered by the University Research and Creative Productions Committee is available annually to support small research and/or creative production projects (up to $5,000) of faculty. Proposals are due in October each year for one-year projects beginning January.

Research and Creative Productions Committee Summer Fellowships. A pool of funds administered by the University Research and Creative Productions Committee is available annually to provide summar salary support ($5,000) for faculty engaged in research and/or creative production projects. Applications are due in November each year for projects the following summer. Click here for application guidelines.
Special Awards. Several variable pools of funds are available through the Associate Vice President for Research to promote and enhance externally-funded scholarly activities, including a grants cash-match fund, a seed grant program, and a limited start-up fund. These limited funding opportunities are highly competitive and require a commitment to apply for significant external funds with strong evidence of the potential success. Center for Regional Engagement Grants. Regional Engagement Grants are administered by the Center for Regional Engagement, and are designed to promote applied research activites that benefit MSU's service region and help further the Center for Regional Engagement's mission.
