Services

Pre-Award

The Pre-Award unit within ORSP provides a wide variety of specific services to assist all faculty and staff with external funding, including but not limited to:

• Faculty and staff consultations
• Funding source identifications and searches
• Guideline interpretations
• Agency contacts
• Budget development
• Proposal forms preparation
• Proposal review and approval routing (this includes critiquing narratives)
• Proposal submission (electronic and hardcopy)
• Post award budgets, contracts, and account set-up notification
• Trouble shooting with PIs, agencies, on-campus departments
• Education and training workshops
• Quarterly and annual reports of external grant/contract activity
• Annual report of earned Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs

Research Integrity and Compliance

The Research Integrity & Compliance unit within ORSP offers a wide variety of services that aid in research compliance and a smooth transition to post-award work, including, but not limited to:

• Award notifications
• Contract review and approvals
• Agency contract negotiations
• Subcontract development and review
• Liaison with Accounting & Budgetary Control, Human Resources, Payroll, and Support Services
• Progress report submissions
• Oversight of Institutional Review Board (IRB) for Human Subjects
• Oversight of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
• Oversight of Intellectual Property Committee
• Oversight of Research Misconduct Committee
• Oversight of Conflict of Interest Committee

Research Enhancement

ORSP offers a number of programs to encourage and facilitate faculty and student research, scholarship, and other creative activities. These programs include:

For Faculty:

• Research and Creative Productions Grants (up to $5,000) - administered by the University Research and Creative Productions Committee
• Research and Creative Productions Summer Fellowships ($5,000) - administered by the University Research and Creative Productions Committee
• ORSP Seed Grants (up to $5,000)
• Grants Cash Match Fund
• F&A Reimbursement Incentive Fund
• Start-up grants for new faculty

• Undergraduate Research Fellows Program
• Student Research Travel Awards
• Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship
