The MSU Relay For Life Team surpassed its goal of $5,000!!!
($5,326.80 to be exact)
And, just as importantly, we CELEBRATED our survivors, REMEMBERED our lost loved ones, and pledged to FIGHT BACK against cancer!

Shoot for the Moon Contest Results
Here are the results of the Shoot for the Moon Contest, where the colleges competed against each other to raise money for the American Cancer Society. A total of $90 was raised.
First Place - College of Education, with $40
Second Place - College of Business, with $30
Third Place - College of Humanities, with $15
Fourth Place - College of Science & Technology, with $5
Thanks to everyone who participated and purchased a "moon" to remember a loved one who has passed, or to honor a cancer patient or survivor!

In 2007, the MSU Soaring Eagles Relay For Life team raised $5,148.30 as was one of the top fundraising teams in the county again!
MSU Soaring Eagles 2006
In 2006, the MSU Soaring Eagles Relay For Life team raised $5,534.34, and was honored as the top fundraising team in Rowan County for the second year in a row! Here is a list of the events we hosted throughout the spring of 2006:
February 1-13 - Valentine's Day Online Auction
February 2 - Groundhog Day Bake Sale in Howell-McDowell
March 31 - Lunch with the President and Friends at Baird Music Hall see pictures here
April 7 - Gospel Music Easter Concert at Morehead First Church of God see pictures here
April 3-12 -Easter Online Auction
April 26 (Administrative Professionals Day) - Cookout on lawn of Allie Young Hall, 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
May 6 - Yard Sale at Morehead News, from 8 am to 2 pm
May 9 - Pizza Hut Fundraiser, get a voucher in 305 HM or by calling 783-2053
June 9-10 - Relay For Life at Rowan County Senior High School

MSU Soaring Eagles 2005
In 2005, the MSU Soaring Eagles Relay For Life team raised $6,617.22, and was honored as the top fundraising team in Rowan County! In all, 18 teams participated in Rowan County during the May 2005 event, raising over $46,000. Press releaseTeam Picture
What does the MSU Soaring Eagles Relay For Life team do to raise money:
In 2005, the team’s fundraising efforts included events both on campus and in the community. The main events on campus were a musical benefit titled "Lunch with the President and Friends," along with the Relay For Life cookout. Lunch with President pictures
The largest event in the community was a Gospel Music Easter Concert at the Morehead First Church of God. Other events included Valentine’s Day and Easter online auctions, a bake sale, a tribute to Art Stamper held by the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music, and individual fundraising. The team also received a contribution of $625.25 from a class taught by Dr. Cathy Thomas, associate professor of speech. The leadership class held a Battle of the Bands to benefit Relay.
The team thanks everyone who helped with our efforts in 2005!
