If you’re interested in a nursing program that combines your compassion for patients with working knowledge about the latest medical technologies, Morehead State University is the place for you. The Department of Nursing at MSU will prepare you for a diverse range of careers in nursing. Based in the Center for Health, Education & Research (CHER) building, the Department of Nursing offers associate and bachelor's degrees in nursing, as well as online RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) post-licensure program designed specifically for working nurses seeking to advance their careers. There's also a Paramedic to RN associate  program to help those who are trained paramedics to earn their nursing degree.
Our department has clinical affiliation contracts with more than 50 healthcare institutions across the state of Kentucky, including health departments, hospitals hospices, long-term care facilities and more. These affiliations serve to augment the learning opportunities you will have at MSU. After you graduate, you will have both the knowledge and real-world experience to enter into an exciting, rewarding career in healthcare.
As a student in MSU’s nursing program, you will study in facilities which employ hands-on learning with the most up-to-date equipment, high-fidelity patient simulators and live actor-clients. At Morehead State, you become the nurse by using what you learn in the classroom to diagnose and treat patients in a real-world setting. You will receive personal, one-on-one attention from faculty members and guidance from the moment you apply thanks to the department’s two academic counseling coordinators.

Students who wish to study nursing must apply to both MSU and the Department of Nursing. Cohorts are selected through a competitive application process.

Convenient Ways to Learn

The Department of Nursing offers working professional students a number of convenient options to complete their degrees, including:
