Welcome!

As Summer Arts Academy Coordinator, it is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 2012 Morehead State University Summer Arts Academy.  Located on the campus of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. The Morehead State University Summer Arts Academy is offering you a unique opportunity this summer in experiencing music, theatre, dance, art and design and creative writing.  The Academy exists to nurture students’ development in the arts in a setting which allows interaction with expert faculty and the opportunity to work with other students who share specific  interests  in the arts.   You will receive individual and group instruction in your area and also be offered elective study.  The Academy will feature recitals by faculty members with the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance.  Other  evening activities with creative writing and art & design are being  planned as well.  Students will have an opportunity to share in their mediums during the final Celebration Festival on Saturday, June 16, 2012; 1 p.m. 

What makes this really a unique experience is the focus on the  individual having specific study in their medium.  Each area will develop their curriculum specific to the students interest.  If you want to receive concentrated study to vastly improve in your area, (music, theatre, dance, art & design and creative writing), interact with other students and enjoy recreational settings, the MSU Summer Arts Academy is for YOU!!
