Glenn Ginn is a graduate of the world famous jazz studies program at the University of North Texas (MM ‘96,) where he studied guitar and jazz improvisation with Fred Hamilton and Dan Haerle. Glenn has been a featured soloist along side several jazz greats including Clark Terry, Gene Harris, Gene Bertoncini, and drummer Steve Smith. His guitar playing, composing, arranging and producing skills can be heard on several CD releases (see discography below.)
Prior to his move to Kentucky in 2005, Glenn Ginn served for 10 years as professor of guitar and jazz studies at Minnesota State University in Moorhead, Minnesota (1995-2005). At MSU Moorhead he instituted the jazz and studio music performance program and served as director of the guitar and bass program teaching many courses and directing several ensembles within each area. Glenn is an active performer and clinician with nearly 25 years of professional performing and teaching experience.
Glenn resides in Morehead, Kentucky with his wife Lisa and son Ian. When not performing, teaching, writing or recording, he is usually biking, hiking, kayaking, or enjoying some other outdoor activity.
