Make a Difference Day

What is Make a Difference Day?
Make A Difference Day is the “national day of doing good.”  It is the largest community service effort in the nation, rallying corporations, government leaders, charitable organizations and everyday Americans into action on one day.  Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine and Points of Light Foundation, Make A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.

What is the Goal?
The goal of Make A Difference Day is to inspire and encourage local residents to participate in community service projects. Large or small, as individuals or in groups, one-day or ongoing – the nature of the service isn’t as important as simply giving your time, effort, resources, skills or support to make a difference in the lives of people in your community.
