Services for Online Students
Document Delivery Service
Students not taking courses at the main campus may request library materials through the Regional Campus Library Services office by phone, email, or via the online Document Delivery Request form. Materials available for request include all circulating library items (such as main collection books and videos) as well as copies of print journal articles not available electronically. All materials are mailed free of charge.
Electronic Reserves
Students may access Electronic Reserves material through the Library's Home page by following the Course Reserves link (under "Other Search Options"). Instructions and a video tutorial explaining how to access electronic reserves are viewable at the Course Reserves page of the library website.
E-books
The library makes tens of thousands of electronic books available through its NetLibrary collection.
For more electronic books, see the E-Books tab at the Regional Campus Library Services Libguide.
E-journals
The library's subscription databases contain a great number of full text electronic journal articles in either PDF or HTML format. You can access these databases through the Find Articles link at the library website.
You can also find the library's electronic journals at the E-Journals A-Z link at the library homepage. At this page you can search for online journals directly by title or by subject area.
Interlibrary Loan
Students may request materials not owned by the library through the Interlibrary Loan office. If you are taking only online courses the materials will be mailed to your home address. Students taking a class at the main campus will be required to pick books up at the Camden-Carroll Library. Interlibrary loan is a free service.

Services for Online Faculty
Bring the Library to Your Blackboard Course
All newly created Blackboard course shells include an MSU Library button in the course menu. The MSU Library button allows users to choose online library resources by discipline and access those resources directly in Blackboard without reentering a username and password.
Visit this page to find out more about the library and Blackboard.
To add customized library content to your course shell, contact the Distance Instruction Librarian. The librarian can help you add links to specific databases, e-books, electronic reference materials, and library catalog searches.
You can even have your own personal librarian in Blackboard. The librarian's participation level is entirely up to you. For more information on embedding a librarian in your course, visit our LibGuide.
Electronic Reserves
The library will make selected course material available through electronic reserves or “e-reserves.” Students and faculty may access electronic reserves material by following the Course Reserves link at the library home page (under "Other Search Options").
For information on placing materials on electronic reserve, visit the Course Reserves page of the library website.
Research Guides (Libguides)
Librarians are available to help you develop online research guides that are specific to your class or discipline. If you are interested in creating such a guide, you will be put in contact with a librarian who is the liaison to that subject area. View our new guides at http://research.moreheadstate.edu.
Interlibrary Loan
Faculty may request materials not owned by the library through the Interlibrary Loan office. If you are teaching only online courses the materials will be mailed to your home address. Faculty teaching a class at the main campus will be required to pick books up at the Camden-Carroll Library. Interlibrary loan is a free service.
