Mobile device users have two choices for accessing the Morehead State University web site: by going to the traditional site at http://www2.moreheadstate.edu, or by going to the mobile site at http://m.moreheadstate.edu. By necessity, the mobile site contains a reduced subset of the full site, but is much quicker to load.
Email – Faculty/Staff
Many mobile devices have the capability to communicate with a Microsoft Exchange email server, as we have in place at MSU for faculty and staff. The method for setting this up varies by particular device, but the specific information needed is the same. The following are the most commonly used settings:
Mail server: webx.moreheadstate.edu (note: “Use SSL” should be enabled)
Email address: y.ouraddress@moreheadstate.edu
Username: Your EagleID (a lowercase “m” followed by your seven-digit id number)
Password: Your Eaglepass (the password associated with your email account)
Domain: campus
In general, devices using Exchange/Outlook ActiveSync for communicating with a mail server will permit only a single Exchange account. Windows Mobile devices are set up via Start>Messaging>New Email Account.
General information regarding setting up mobile devices can be found by logging into your email account via the web interface (Outlook Web Access, or OWA) at https://webx.moreheadstate.edu (this works best in Internet Explorer {IE} Clicking on the Options link will give a page listing options that can be modified and/or information to view. One of these is “Mobile Devices”. Information about setting up mobile devices and the meaning of the information and options on the “Mobile Devices” page can be found by clicking on the help button (Note: the capabilities and information under the help link varies between IE and non-IE browsers. Non-IE browsers run a “light” version of OWA, while IE provides a more “Outlook”-looking interface. The best information and the most options can be found while using IE to access OWA.)
Email - Students/Retirees/Alumni/Guests
The method for setting this up varies by particular device, but the specific information needed is the same. The following are the most commonly used settings:
Email Address: EagleID@moreheadstate.edu
Username: EagleID@moreheadstate.edu
Password: Your Eaglepass
Description: Eaglemail
IMAP/POP server: pod51004.outlook.com
Exchange server setup: m.outlook.com (Android users will need to use: pod51004.outlook.com)
Outgoing server: pod51004.outlook.com
