How do students use the ITV Technology?

Using ITV Technology, students can see and interact with the instructor, in real-time, from a remote location. This technology allows Morehead State University to offer more classes in more locations. This provides more convenient access for students while preserving the 'personal' feeling, which online courses sometimes lack.

Student use of the technology is simple. They don't. At least, students aren't required to push any buttons, move any cameras, or anything. Students only need to attend class and offer the instructor the same respect as in a regular classroom. Students are able to talk normally and participate as they usually would in a traditional classroom. The only difference is that their fellow classmates, and usually the instructor, are on television, broadcasted over a private network, from another part of the state.

How do I take the Orientation for my ITV Class?

This includes training students in the use the audio, how to send and receive course materials, and what to do if a problem occurs. Videoconference etiquette expectations should also be explained. Return to Top

How do I get the class Handouts and other Material?

Either the faculty will send any materials to be used in the class to the regional campus center main office and the facilitator will pick up and distribute to the appropriate class as received or your instructor will use Blackboard to distribute course materials electronically. Return to Top

How do I turn in my Homework or other Assignments?

Many Instructors use Blackboard to supplement their ITV courses. Course assignments may be submitted via this system.

For those students whose instructors do not use Blackboard in their ITV classes:

Each site has established a system for students to send materials to their instructor through the facilitator and the Regional campus center office Director's staff. This information is given out during the orientation on the first day of class.
