Voice Mail Services 

Voice Mail is offered to every student, faculty and staff member at Morehead State University.    

If you are a new student an account must be built for you.  Stop by the IT - Customer Service Office at 108 Lloyd Cassity and you will receive your mailbox number and password along with instructions on how to initialize your account.

If you are a returning student and know your mailbox number; you can call the OIT Help Desk at 783-5000 and your account can be moved to your new phone number.

Faculty and Staff members that need to establish a voice mail account should contact the OIT Help Desk at 783-5000 to place a work order.

To Initialize Your Voice Mailbox:

  1. Dial 3-4999 on-campus or 783-4999 from off-campus.
  2. Press # to indicate you are a subscriber to the system.
  3. Enter your 5 digit mailbox number.  (obtained from Information Technology at 783-5000)
  4. Enter your initial password (obtained from Information Technology at 783-5000)
  5. Follow the easy to use voice prompts for greetings and name recordings.

Message Retrieval From Your Residence Hall Room

  1. Press *5
  2. Enter your personal password
  3. Follow the prompts

To retrieve messages from your room mailbox follow the above steps. Remember, your room mailbox number and password will always be the last 5 digits of your phone number (3####).

Message Retrieval From phones off campus

  1. Dial 783-4999 or 3-4999 on campus
  2. Press #
  3. Enter your mailbox number
  4. Enter your personal password

Students that live off-campus must remember that in order for a caller to leave a message, they must know your personal mailbox number because it is not associated with a phone number.
