Visitors: Mr. David Larry, Janet McCoy, Eric Jerde
The MSU Faculty Senate held a special session on Thursday, September 30th to address academic freedom in higher education. The only item on the agenda was special speaker Mr. David Larry, an attorney currently at Appalachian State University. Mr. Larry spoke on topics relating to academic freedom and how it relates to MSU’s PAc 14 (Academic Freedom and Responsibility) and PAc 12 (Professional Ethics). Questions and answers followed his presentation. No other senate business was conducted. The next formal meeting of the Faculty Senate will be Thursday, October 7th.
