Unbridled Education Summit
Career and College Readiness Planning Meeting
August 27th 2011

As a partner in the Math-Science Partnership and funded by an Improving Educator Quality Grant from CPE, schools around the state were invited to participate in this unique, effective planning experience, to create a career-college readiness plan. Participating schools walked away with three carefully selected objectives and activities in order to achieve those objectives for the 2011-2012 academic year, as well $2,000 in in resources to assist students in college and career planning, which includes a classroom set of The Real Act. Travel was reimbursed, a $100 stipend was paid to the staff members and every student recieved a $100 gift card graciously donated by Coffee Tree Books of Morehead, Kentucky.
What is College Readiness
College readiness is the level of preparation a first-time student needs in order to succeed in a credit-bearing course at a level of postsecondary institution.

What is Success in "College Readiness"
"Success is defined as completing entry-level courses at a level of understanding and proficiency that prepares at the student for subsequent courses. Kentucky's systemwide standards of readiness guarantee students access to credit bearing coursework without the need for developmental education courses or supplemental coursework.
