Which Developmental Reading Course Do I Take?

Students are placed into one of two developmental reading classes based upon both their ACT reading score and the outcome of the COMPASS reading exam.

If students’ ACT reading scores are between a 17 or below or COMPASS reading scores are 76, students should enroll in the following course:

• EDEL 096 – Strategic Reading I

If students’ ACT reading score is an 18 or 19, or their COMPASS scores falls between 77 and 84, or have received a grade of C or better in EDEL 096, students should enroll in the following course:

• EDEL 097 – Strategic Reading II
