Dr. William C. Green has received MSU’s distinguished  teaching and research awards  He holds the J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, a Ph.D. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an MA. in Political Science from Kent State University,and a B.A. in History (Political Science minor), cum laude from Kent State University.  His teaching, research, and university service are detailed in his resume.  

Dr. Green teaches in the Department of Government and Regional Analysis. He offers undergraduate courses on Constitutional Law, Courts and Civil Liberties, Environmental Law and Policy, and Parliamentary Democracies and graduate seminars in Public  Law and Comparative Politics. In the classroom, students are active learners who are challenged to think, write, and speak. Outside the classroom, he has encouraged students to develop their research skills as participants in MSU's Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. 

Dr. Green has been actively engaged in international education for the past thirty years . He has taught in the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS)program in Bregenz, Austria three times. As of the Summer 2013, he has recruited 44 MSU students to participate in the five week Canadian Parliamentary Internship Program,, prepared them with a course on Canadian Politics, and provided each of them with a Canadian Studies Scholarship.  

Dr. Green's research explores constitutional and civil liberties issues and the legal dimensions of economic development, labor relations, language rights, and pharmaceutical drug policies. His publications include 3 books, 5 book chapters, 25 articles, and 44 encyclopedia essays. One of his  most recent publications is "Creating a Common Market for Wine: Boutique Wines, Direct Shipment, and State Alcohol Regulation." He is currently at work on a book manuscript: The Odyssey of Depo-Provera; The FDA, Contraceptive Choice, and Chemical Castration.
