ADUC Policies

All individuals and groups using facilities at Morehead State University must comply with all University policies, local and state laws, ordinances and regulations.


  • Smoking is not permitted in the University Center. All University buildings at Morehead State are smoke-free facilities.
  • Groups that misrepresent an event or an affiliation in order to avoid fees and charges will be charged appropriately, may incur additional charges, and may have their reservation privileges suspended. These determinations are made by the Office of University Center and Conference Services. 
  • No sitting on tables in the University Center. 
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all time in the University Center. 
  • No wrestling or excessive horseplay will be allowed in the University Center and my result in the persons involved being asked to leave. 
  • No roller blades, skateboards, heelys, bicycles, etc will be allowed in the University Center.


  • The UC/CS office will not store personal or organizational items overnight unless it is related to an event that is taking place in the building or prior arrangements are made with the UC/CS staff. 
  • Items may not be delivered to the University Center without making arrangements with the Director. 
  • The UC/CS office will not be held responsible for the security of these items at any time. 
  • The UC/CS office is not responsible for loss or damage to any materials left in the building preceding, during or following an event. 
  • Items must be removed immediately following and event unless arrangements are made with the Director of UC/CS prior to the event.

Table Reservations

  • Tables for the purpose of promoting an event or used for a fundraiser must be made 24 hours in advance. 
  • A standard 6 foot table will be provided with 2 chairs placed by the UC/CS Staff. 
  • ADUC furniture is NOT to be used at the tables. 
  • No sitting on tables in the University Center. 
  • Tables may be scheduled for up to 3 days per week. 
  • Tables must be left free of trash and cafeteria trays 
  • If table is moved out of the assigned area, you will be asked to move. 
  • Any damage to the tables/chairs will be charged to the person/organization who requested them.
  • Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. 
  • Tables and chairs must be picked up and returned each day to ADUC. Failure to do so will result in loss of privileges and a $25 fee.

Audiovisual Equipment

  • The UC/CS office will not assume responsibility for outside audiovisual equipment, seminar presenting equipment, etc. 
  • There will be a charge for use of some AV equipment to be used outside of the University Center. Please check with UC/CS staff for more information. 
  • Flip charts are not provided by the UC/CS office. Groups wanting flip charts must provide their own. Markers and erasers for the white boards are provided. The UC/CS office requests that red dry erase makers not be used on the white boards. 
  • AV Equipment that is returned damaged will result in a charge to replace/fix the equipment. Any AV equipment that is not returned will be assessed a replacement fee and will be reported to the MSU Police Department.


  • Paint, spray paint, glitter, confetti, sand, sequins, rice, etc, may NOT be used in the University Center or Button Auditorium. If bird seed is to be used for, prior approval must be obtained from the Director of UC/CS. 
  • Staples, nails, thumb tacks, duct tape, packing tape, masking tape, electrical tape, poster putty or anything that may leave a residue or mark behind are not permitted to be used to hang decorations. If an organization has a question, please contact the University Center staff. 
  • Please do not affix anything to projection screens or light fixtures. 
  • Blue painters tape may be used to affix decorations to walls, Pipe and Drape curtains and tables. 
  • Decorations may only be used in the room reserved. 
  • Any damages resulting in the removal of decorations or extensive clean up will be billed to the individual/organization sponsoring the event.
  • If decorations are made out of latex materials, please let the UC/CS staff know.
  • Helium balloons must be tied to solid balloon weights or securely attached to free-standing decorations. Sand weights are not allowed. Balloons may not be taped nor tied to University fixtures, furnishings, equipment or walls.
  • The burning of candles in ADUC is prohibited. Tea light candles floating in water or in votive holders will be permitted. Any organization that violates this policy will be responsible for any damages that may occur due to their negligence and may lose scheduling privileges. 
  • LED candles are available to be checked out at the front desk of ADUC. Groups must provide their own batteries.
  • Banners may only be hung by UC/CS staff with prior notice and approval in a location determined by the staff. 
  • No posters/signage may be affixed to walls, windows, doors or railings of the University Center. 
  • The Office of UC/CS is not responsible for the theft or damage to banners caused by weather or vandalism. 
  • Banners may be hung in 7 day increments. 
  • If the banner relates to a specific event, the organization/individuals involved must remove it within 24 hours of the event’s completion. 
  • Anything posted on the Bulletin Boards provided for public use must be affixed by thumb tacks. Anything affixed by staples or tape will be removed.

Lost and Found

  • The Office of University Center and Conference Services maintains a lost and found at the front desk. Items are stored for 6 months or until they are returned to the owner. 
  • Lost Eagle Cards are returned to the Eagle Card Office located on the first floor of ADUC when possible. If an Eagle Card is found at night or over a weekend, they are kept at the front desk until the Eagle Card office is open.
  • Some items deemed valuable may be turned into the MSU Police Department until the owner is located.

Pet Policy

  • Pets are not permitted in the University Center. The MSU Eagle Handbook states that it is a violation of University policy to have “an animal, other than those trained and required for service to people with disabilities, in a University-owned facility."
