Lin-hsiu Huang was
selected as one of five commissioned artists to work for the non-profit organization, Give Her Life, where she created a piece of artwork raising awareness for the issue of gendercide. She presented her work among the other artists in North Hollywood, California in December of 2015. Additionally, her undergraduate research fellowship that she started her first semester of college involves her working as a producer for an on-campus live TV show, Hear Me Roar, where she advocates important issues that women and minorities face. As a first-year student, she has presented in several conferences across the state including the Kentucky Honors Roundtable in Louisville, Poster at the Capitol in Frankfort, the Celebration of Student Scholarship and “Moving to the Front” poster presentations at MSU. Using art as a form to raise awareness and self-expression, Lin hopes to also continue her freelance business, LINear Design, throughout the next 3 years at MSU. As a freelance artist, she has completed over 200 products within 6 months. Mainly working with acrylics on CDs, she has been featured on MSU’s Trail Blazer, Art This, and Hear Me Roar.
