Counseling and Health Services
 | General Information The office of Counseling and Health Services is a full-service, primary care clinic, with services comparable to those that students would find in their home community. We are devoted to providing our students with quality medical care. |
Mission & Values
The office of Counseling and Health Services establishes and maintains a supportive environment to improve the quality of student life through health care delivery and the encouragement of healthy decision-making, as well as through educational services.
We work hard to provide our students with quality health care, without the hassle of leaving campus. We strive to provide competent health services that meet the needs of a diverse university community, and we value and respect each individual student.
Hours of Operations
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Counseling and Health Services operates on the same hours as the University. Our services continue even when classes are not in session, but we are closed on all holidays observed by the University.
Appointments are available all day up until 2:00 p.m. Walk-in is available all day. Please note that those with appointments or emergency needs will be seen first. Call the clinic at 783-2123 or visit us at 112 Allie Young Hall to make an appointment.
Insurance and Billing
If you have insurance, please bring your card with you at the time of your visit. We will also need the cardholder's date of birth and the last four digits of their social security number (Ex: if your mom's name is on the card, we need her date of birth and the last four digits of her social). If you do not have insurance, you will still be seen at the clinic. Students will never be turned away, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Please call or stop by the clinic with any questions.
Class Excuse Policy
Within the guidelines of the MSU UAR 131.02 Excused Absence Policy, the clinic will provide the students with written confirmation of treatment on a specific day. Please note, it is a statement that the student was seen at the clinic on a specific date and
it is not an excuse slip according to the guidelines of this policy. These statements will be branded with the Counseling and Health Services embosser to prevent fraudulent documentation. The granting of an excused absence or any make-up work will be solely at the discretion of the professor.
Flu vaccines will be available starting Monday, October 3, 2011, at the Caudill Health Clinic located on the first floor of Allie Young Hall. Vaccines will be administered Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Staff will also be available at the health clinic on two Saturdays, Oct. 8 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for individuals who are unable to come during the week.
Eligible recipients of the vaccine are full or part time students, faculty, staff and spouses, MSU retirees and spouses, and affiliate employees, such as Aramark.
There will be no direct cost to eligible patients for the flu vaccine. We are however charging the expense of the vaccine and administration of the vaccine back to health insurance. Please bring your health insurance information with you. Those eligible persons with no health insurance coverage will receive the vaccine at no cost.
