Welcome to the Morehead State University Arts and Humanities Council Web site!
The Morehead State University Arts and Humanities Council was established in 2003 to create a cultural climate that encourages dialogue and partnering in ideas, resources, and audiences. The Council is comprised of representatives from each of the departments and interdisciplinary programs within the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Morehead State Public Radio, the Kentucky Folk Art Center, and the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music. It is funded in part from The Buckner and Sally S. Hinkle Endowment for Humanities to provide extra-curricular educational arts and humanities programming for students and the public. These funds are leveraged with funding received through collaborations amongst the members of the Arts and Humanities Council, and through sponsorship from local businesses and industry. If you are interested in sponsoring an event or sponsoring an event series, we truly welcome the opportunity to work with you.
The Arts and Humanities Calendar is a consolidated list of all the MSU-sponsored music and theatre performances, lectures by authors, poets, artists and scholars, and art exhibitions and openings sponsored by the departments and interdisciplinary programs within the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Morehead State Public Radio, the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music and the Kentucky Folk Art Center. All of our events are open to the public and are free, unless noted. Notices of these events and other arts and humanities events offered by our community partners are sent out regularly through the MSU-AHC listserve. To join this listserve, see the blue box to the left.
Thank you for visiting our site. We encourage you to attend the events we offer here at Morehead State University, and to support the arts and humanities at Morehead State University and in this region. Please feel free to call me with questions or comments about the MSU Arts and Humanities Council programs and activities or about this website.
