Nearly Naked Mile

10th Annual Nearly Naked Mile
Thursday, October 27, 2016
Presented by the Student Alumni Ambassadors

The “Nearly Naked Mile” is a coat drive benefit event for families in the Morehead community. Faculty, staff, students and community members are encouraged to donate new or unwanted coats. Coats appropriate for children will be given to Rowan County Family Resource Center in Morehead for distribution. Dress coats will be donated to the MSU Career Services office to assist students who need a nice coat for an interview or professional event. Coats can be dropped off at the Palmer Development House year around.

Every year race participants are bold and cold during the 1 mile race to help raise awareness of the need for coats for our youth. To participate in the race, runners must bring a coat. All race participants and spectators who donate a coat the evening of the event receive a free t-shirt.

Participants in the “Nearly Naked Mile” can come dressed in costume or in comfortable running clothes. “Nearly” Naked mean clothing is required. Popcorn and plenty of water will be provided.

Prizes for the event will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers, 110% participation award as well as the most creative costume and the “Nearly Naked” award.

More information on the “Nearly Naked Mile” is available by calling MSU’s Office of Alumni Relations and Development at (606) 783-2033.
